Antimony Salt Compounds

Antimony is a bluish-white brittle metal, which has low thermal and electrical conductivity. Antimony Ingots have high corrosion and oxidation resistance and are ideal for conducting various chemical processes.

Antimony(III) Oxide is the inorganic compound with the formula Sb2O3. Antimony Trioxide is an industrial chemical and also occurs naturally in the environment. It is the most important commercial compound of antimony. It is found in nature as the minerals valentinite and senarmontite. Antimony Trioxide is a chemical used in the manufacture of some polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic, which is used to make food and beverage containers. Antimony Trioxide is also added to some flame retardants to make them more effective in consumer products, including upholstered furniture, textiles, carpeting, plastics, and children’s products.

Antimony Pentoxide (molecular formula: Sb2O5) is yellowish powder with cubic crystals, a chemical compound of antimony and oxygen. It always occurs in hydrated form, Sb2O5·nH2O. Antimony(V) Oxide or Antimony Pentoxide is a highly insoluble thermally stable Antimony source. It is used as a Flame retardant in clothing and suitable for glass, optic and ceramic applications.

As a moderately water soluble crystalline antimony source, Antimony Triacetate is the compound of antimony with the chemical formula of Sb(CH3CO2)3. It is a white powder and moderately water-soluble. It is used as a catalyst in the production of polyesters.

Antimony Trisulfide is a black powder, which is a fuel used in various white star compositions of the potassium perchlorate-base. It is sometimes used in glitter compositions, fountain compositions and flash powder.
